Your financial support of the Bernardsville Library enables this vital community resource to provide the variety and quality of materials, services, and programs that patrons expect. There are three ways that you can support your library. You may make a donation directly to the library or you may donate to either of the two nonprofit organizations whose missions are to support the Bernardsville Public Library. Regardless of how you choose to make your donation, all funds directly benefit the library and are tax deductible.

When you donate directly to the Bernardsville Public Library, the Library Director with the oversight of the Board of Trustees manages the donation and ensures that it is spent in a manner consistent with needs of the library and the specification of the donor. Gifts may be earmarked for anything from materials to capital improvements, programs, staff development, etc.

The Friends of the Bernardsville Library (The Friends) is a volunteer organization dedicated raising funds that support non-operational library expenses. Gifts to the Friends of the Library are used for special programs including all children’s programming, children’s Summer Reading Program, Sundays at Three concerts and museum passes. Your gifts also provide technology support and enrich our collection of books, audiobooks, online resources, and DVDs for all ages.

The Bernardsville Library Foundation is a volunteer organization established to provide a source of private funding to enable the Bernardsville Public Library to continue to operate at a level of excellence without regard to variations in public funding. Gifts to the Foundation strengthen the library’s ability to continue to operate at or above its current level of excellence. These gifts maintain the library, and its services and resources, as the cornerstone of our community. The Foundation also aims to build an endowment fund to help meet public needs by maintaining hours and staffing.
